--December 17, 2015.

The region of the Eastern Townships is well known as fertile ground for those who work in the visual arts. The Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke has drawn from this rich source of talent to develop the forthcoming Salon du printemps des artistes des Cantons-de-l’Est. This biennial exhibition provides an exceptional showcase in which the public can appreciate the brilliance of recent work by local artists.

Taking account of the diversification of disciplines which make up the body of work of this not-to-be-missed spring “happening”, the Musée’s team proposes a reflection on the wide range of current practice in the visual arts. Drawing, photography, installation, painting, serigraphy, and sound art sit side by side, inspiring a dialogue which is sure to engage all viewers.

The call for candidatures for the Salon du Printemps des artistes des Cantons-de-l’Est ended on November 15, and we are very pleased to unveil the names of the artists chosen to be part of this very promising group.
