Old Fashioned Day

Old Fashioned Day is a delightful way to spend a summer afternoon! More than 30 knowledgeable craftspeople from the region will demonstrate their skills. On show will be hand crafts like quilting, wool spinning, chicken scratch embroidery, rug hooking, knitting and crochet, weaving, bobbin lace making, and more. There will be demonstrations of skills and trades such as blacksmithing, coopering (bucket and barrel making), timber frame construction, and exhibits of many kinds of antique tools, machinery and engines. Heritage gardening will also be highlighted, with information on seed saving and making tea from heritage herbs. homemade scones and jam, horse and wagon rides, and old time music all afternoon by talented local musicians. Other food and refreshments will also be available. Well-known local artist Denis Palmer will be sketching and painting on site all afternoon, and you can photograph your friends and family in a horse and buggy "photo op."

This event is a fund raiser for the Eaton Corner Museum. The Museum, in the historic village of Eaton Corner,

Admission is $8, ($4 for children under 12), including free access to all demonstrations and displays

WHEN: August 12, 1:00 p.m .to 5:00 p.m.

WHERE: Cookshire Fairgrounds, on Route 108 in Cookshire-Eaton.

Eaton Corner Museum, Eaton Corner on Rte. 253 between Cookshire and Sawyerville.

The Museum is open Wednesday to Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. until the end of August, during September on weekends only. For more information contact the Museum at 819-875-5256.
