larger_milby_2.pngPatrimoine Ascott Heritage / Little Forks Branch, UEL is unveiling their new interpretive panel / listening post at the historic Little Hyatt One-room Schoolhouse in Milby, on June 16, at 2 p.m., and the public are cordially invited.

A tent will be set up on the premises in case of rain. And light refreshments will be served.

According to Bev Loomis, who has coordinated the project, "this panel was our project for the Canada 150 celebration and which commemorates the 225th anniversary of the founding of the Township of Ascott." The panel, Loomis says, together with the other large interpretive panel already on the schoolhouse site, "will prove to be of great interest to visiting tourists, which being outdoors is available 24/7, as the schoolhouse is open only when members are onsite, or by appointment or during the eight weeks when a summer student is employed."

Those coming North on Rte. 143 at the 2nd. turn-around take exit Rte.147, proceed through Huntingville, on past the Milby Golf Club shown on the Left, followed by the Milby Covered Bridge, shortly thereafter there are cross roads, turn Right onto McVety road. You will note a little white Church on the corner and our schoolhouse is located across the road. Basically the same directions apply to those coming from the South on Rte. 143, turn Right at the turn-around and proceed on Rte.147.
