Louise Abbott is an award-winning writer, documentary photographer, and documentary filmmaker in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. She has devoted her career to documenting the culture, heritage, and natural environment of rural and indigenous communities in Canada and abroad. She is the author of The Coast Way, The French Shore, A Country So Wild and Grand, The Heart of the Farm, Eeyou Istchee: Land of the Cree, and Memphrémagog: An Illustrated History (volumes 1 and 2). She has also directed numerous documentary films, including Nunaaluk: A Forgotten Story, Saving the Founder’s Home, and, most recently, Driving into the Past: A History of Covered Bridges in Quebec.
