Comparative marketing strategies in the rural tourism industry in the Quebec and New York/Vermont regions.

Within the context of the ETRC Scholar-in-Residence program, Bishop’s University receives a visiting scholar from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh each year. This year’s recipient is Dr. Lise Heroux. In her presentation, Dr. Heroux will compare marketing strategies in the rural tourism industry in the Quebec and New York/Vermont regions. The ETRC invites everybody to attend her free public campus wide lecture

About our guest speaker:

Lise Héroux is Distinguished Service Professor, and Chair of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the State University of New York--Plattsburgh. She received an M.B.A. from McGill University and a Ph.D. from Concordia University. Her principal research interests have focused upon cross-cultural business marketing practices, advertising, cross-border retailing strategies, and rural tourism marketing. She is co-author of two books on tourism marketing. She has published in the Journal of Economic Psychology, Quebec Studies, Journal of Eastern Townships Studies, Journal of Foodservice Business Research, International Journal of Business Disciplines, Academic Exchange Quarterly, TEOROS, Economics World, Advances in Economics and Business, Journal of Hospitality Tourism Management, and numerous conference proceedings. She has also served on the Abstracts Editorial Board of the Journal of Interactive Marketing. Dr. Heroux is the recipient of the prestigious S.U.N.Y. Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
